Lesley Hadland left Stratford-upon-Avon at the age of 16 to further her studies at Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey where she gained teaching qualifications in ballet, modern theatre, tap and national dancing. Although an accomplished dancer in her own right, she chose to pass on her love of dance to children and adults.Past pupils have danced successfully in Europe and on cruise ships on the Mediterranean and in the U.S.A. Students have appeared regularly in productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company and other local groups and have successfully auditioned for the National Youth Theatre and the National Youth Music Theatre. As well as teaching, Lesley Hadland has choreographed several productions for local Societies, fashion shows and has experienced work in film and television.
Andrew Holtom who teaches singing and musical theatre, has a wealth of experience to draw on. He plays piano and percussion and is in demand as an accompanist and organist. As Musical Director, engagements include The Wizard of Oz, Elves!, Shakespeare on Love, many productions for Second Thoughts, Deputy Musical Director for Stratford Operatic Society’s Crazy for You, and MD for their award-winning 42nd Street. Other engagements as MD, Alcester Operatic Society’s Singin’ in the Rain, Rogues and Vagabonds’ Shakespeare on Love, Les Misérables, If We Shadows, Kiss Me Kate, Honk! and Divided Lives and several concerts for SOS and 90 Years of the Musicals for Guildhall Operatic Society in Coventry and Stratford Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s Ruddigore. Andrew is also a composer, having written music for several of Shakespeare’s plays and has composed for a musical version of She Stoops to Conquer
Amanda Laidler has worked as an arts administrator and a stage/company manager for theatre and opera. From 1986-91 she was Company Manager and Assistant to the Director of Wexford Festival Opera. Productions she has directed locally include the Sibford Millennium Pageant and Stratford Amateur Operatic Society’s Oliver! At the Swan Theatre and The Elixir of Love, The Medium, Trial by Jury and La Clemenza di Tito for Midland Music Makers in Birmingham, Shakespeare on Love, Les Misérables School Edition, If We Shadows. Kiss Me Kate, Honk! and Divided Lives for Rogues and Vagabonds, and Arms and the Man, The Winter’s Tale and She Stoops to Conquer for Second Thoughts, Anything Goes for Spa Opera in Leamington Spa and Ruddigore for Stratford-upon-Avon Gilbert and Sullivan Society She has written and directed five pantomimes for the Croft Players at the Croft School. Amanda teaches drama and musical theatre classes at the Hadland School.
